Inseam Measurement Guide

Inseam measurement is quick and easy. It can be done in one of two ways:

  1. Take a pair of jeans or pants that fit you well and lay them flat on the floor. Smooth them out as best as you can. With a tape measure, measure along the inside seam from the crotch to the bottom of the leg hem. This is your inseam.

  2. Stand up straight with your legs slightly apart. Have a friend use a measuring tape to measure from the underside of your crotch to the bottom of your ankle. This is your inseam.

Tip: If your inseam is in between inches, round up to the nearest inch or half-inch when shopping for pants. It's always better to be a little too long than a little too short.

Tip: Take into account the height of the heel you'll likely wear with a new pair of pants. The higher the heel, the more you should add to your inseam.
