Inseam Measurement Guide
Inseam measurement is quick and easy. It can be done in one of two ways:
- Take a pair of jeans or pants that fit you well and lay them flat on the floor. Smooth them out as best as you can. With a tape measure, measure along the inside seam from the crotch to the bottom of the leg hem. This is your inseam.
- Stand up straight with your legs slightly apart. Have a friend use a measuring tape to measure from the underside of your crotch to the bottom of your ankle. This is your inseam.
Tip: If your inseam is in between inches, round up to the nearest inch or half-inch when shopping for pants. It's always better to be a little too long than a little too short.
Tip: Take into account the height of the heel you'll likely wear with a new pair of pants. The higher the heel, the more you should add to your inseam.
